Digital nomads collaborating on a mission to connect remote workers across Thailand

By nomads, for nomads — since 2019

Our Mission

We Didn't Just Move to Thailand.
We Built a Home Here.

Digital Nomads TH was born at a café in Nimman Road, Chiang Mai, where three freelancers were comparing notes on the best SIM cards and visa agents. What started as a WhatsApp group became Thailand's most trusted digital nomad platform.

We believe that working remotely doesn't mean working alone. Thailand's warmth, affordability, and incredible diversity make it one of the world's top nomad destinations — and we're here to help you navigate every baht and border crossing with confidence.

Real Nomads. Real Stories.

Thousands of remote workers found their footing in Thailand with our help.

"Moving to Chiang Mai felt overwhelming until I found Digital Nomads TH. The co-working space guide alone saved me hours of confusion. Now I'm on my second year here and wouldn't trade it for anything."

Marcus Weber

UX Designer — Germany, based in Chiang Mai

"The LTR visa guide is the most comprehensive thing I've read on the internet about working legally in Thailand. I applied successfully last month. The Digital Nomads TH community also connected me with a great tax advisor here in Bangkok."

Priya Nambiar

SaaS Founder — India, based in Bangkok

"I landed in Koh Samui with zero contacts and zero plan. Joined the Digital Nomads TH Slack on day one, had dinner with four fellow nomads by evening. That's the power of this community. Now I help run the Samui meetups!"

Do I need a special visa to work remotely in Thailand?

Thailand offers several options including the Long-Term Resident (LTR) Visa for high-income earners, the METV, and standard tourist visas. Remote work for foreign clients is widely practised. We provide up-to-date guides and recommended visa consultants for each situation.

What is the average cost of living in Thailand for a nomad?

Chiang Mai is the most budget-friendly from around ฿25,000/month all-in. Bangkok runs ฿40,000–60,000/month. Island life on Phuket or Koh Samui typically costs ฿35,000–70,000/month depending on lifestyle and accommodation type.

Is the internet fast enough for video calls and remote work?

Absolutely. Bangkok and Chiang Mai have co-working spaces with 1Gbps fiber connections. Even on the islands, established co-working spaces offer 100–500Mbps connections. We list verified WiFi speeds at every location we recommend.

How do I handle health insurance while living in Thailand?

Many nomads use international providers like SafetyWing, Cigna Global, or AXA. Thailand has excellent, affordable private hospitals that accept international insurance. We maintain a curated guide to the best nomad insurance options and recommended hospitals city by city.

Is Thailand safe for solo digital nomads — including women?

Thailand is consistently ranked among the safest countries in SEA for solo travellers. Violent crime is rare. Our community includes thousands of solo women nomads who thrive here, and we provide a dedicated safety guide with real community insights.

What is the best time of year to visit different regions of Thailand?

Chiang Mai shines November–April. Bangkok is year-round. The Andaman coast (Phuket, Krabi) is best November–April. Gulf coast islands (Koh Samui, Koh Phangan) are best February–October. Our destination guides include month-by-month climate breakdowns.
